Cancellation Policy

The Summer Cottage Inn is a luxury property where every guest is special to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least twenty-one (21) days prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation.

In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than twenty-one (21) days notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we can rebook your room(s), a full or partial refund will be made minus a $35 processing fee.

Whole House Cancellation - A 90 day cancellation notice is required on whole house bookings.  If we can rebook the Whole House, a full or partial refund will be made minus a processing fee of $100.00.  

Holiday Weekends and Special Events Weekends will require thirty (30) days prior notice.  If we can rebook your room(s), a full or partial refund will be made minus a $75.00 processing fee. 

Minimum Stays are Required on weekends and for Special Event Weekends.  For two night minimum stays, guests may book a Thursday & Friday, a Friday & Saturday, or Saturday & Sunday. 

Charges for an extra person are $50.00 per adult and $30.00 per child, per room per night.

All reservations will be charged in full at the time of booking.

Check-in: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM. If arriving outside of check-in times, please call to make arrangements.

Check-out: 11:00 AM.

No Smoking Policy
Absolutely No Smoking inside; Smoking is limited to our Garden area only. Smoking in guest rooms is not permitted by New Jersey State Law. Smoking anywhere inside the Inn will result in a $250.00 fee.

Pets Policy
No Pets are allowed.

Minimum Age Policy

Children over the age of twelve (12) are allowed.  Special situations may allow for younger children, please call to make arrangements.


Gift certificates must be presented at check-in along with a valid driver's license. Gift certificates are transferable. Any remaining amount on gift certificates can be used at a later day up to the expiration date. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash.


As with most B and B's in Cape May, we do not have on-site parking.  You may park in front of the Inn to unload.  When you unload you should pick up your Guest Check-In packet which has detailed information on where to park.


Our guest rooms are decorated with luxurious bedding and accessories and are blended with elegant Victorian antiques, nostalgia pieces, and design elements. All have private baths, air conditioning, TV, free internet and hair dryers. Everyone has access to our 3rd floor pantry for late night tea or a non-alcoholic beverage.  A refrigerator is available to store your doggy bag.

We are conveniently located in the Historic District on a quiet, tree lined street where you can watch the horse and carriages stroll by.  We are one block from the beach and the Victorian Mall and are close to many fine restaurants and shops in the midst of quaint Victorian architecture.

Enjoy walking and biking to the antique shops, art galleries, the restored Physick Estate, take a trolley tour, a historical walking tour, or view the interiors of several Victorian homes open to the public. Our staff offers a warm and friendly atmosphere where gracious hospitality awaits you.
